They might say the granny panties were just for the sake of great movie-making, but we will be watching Hesher closely when it hits theatres, and if we don’t catch sight of Natalie Portman’s undies in the movie, then we’ve got our proof that she just likes male-repellent, crotch-protecting garments.
Natalie, dressed in a dorky oufit was pretending to save a kid from a bully by getting physical with the bully, hence the intense, hitting the dirt/padded mattress action. Now we can only guess that the pink netting surrounding the granny undies was to prevent tampons and pubic hair from running away (bullies can be pretty scary).

Ya’ll are retarded if you seriously think that is her underwear! You can see her actual panties underneath it meaning it’s a coverup not her underwear. Idiots.
damnedable damned idiots !!!!
What they’re talking about is what you called “her actual panties underneath”, that’s what they’re calling granny panties. Later, they talk about the pink ones calling them “pink netting”. I honestly can’t imagine Natalie going to that scene wearing a thong, it wouldn’t make sense with the character.
I’m sorry but I’d rather see her supposed “granny panties” than a crotch shot a la Paris Hilton and Britney Spears. Yuck!
I agree!
ok the granny panties not even just regular panties and hey i would love to see her parading around my house inn them. the netting is actually something the actressess wear to prevent panty lines.
Good point about the netting, I imagine not every actress wants to wear a thong, but film makers don’t seem like they’d be too keen on panty lines. And to coincide with the other points; the so-called “granny panties” do fit both the character AND the scene better. And lastly, those are not granny panties, they’re just regular panties.
Glad to see she’s not wearing a thong, at least. I’ll take any kind of pantie over a thong. Thongs are sleazy and disgusting.
