Kate Hudson goes to the dark side and becomes plain Kate

Granted it’s for a role, but the fact remains that Kate Hudson as a brunette looks like the boring girl next door who doesn’t get any stares when she takes out the trash. Luckily, the new movie, for which filming started this week, does not depend on her good looks to drive it (although Jessica Alba as a prostitute should help move it along).

The Killer Inside Me stars Kate as Amy Stanton, the schoolteacher girlfriend of a Texas sheriff who becomes a sociopath murderer. Casey Affleck plays the sheriff Lou Ford, along with Jessica Alba as a prostitute and The Mentalist star Simon Baker as the attorney attempting to expose the killer cop.

The movie is set for release sometime next year.
