Whitney Houston’s comeback performance during last night’s British X-Factor was anything but. Aside from trying to manage her loose gown strap and looking visibly annoyed, her performance was at best, mediocre. British tabloids report that readers phoned in to call her singing of her new single Million Dollar Bill, “appaling”.

And if that was not enough, when interviewed by the host after the performance she looked confused (as one reader put it “she looked like she was with the fairies”) and kept staring at her shoes. When Dermot O’Leary (the host) asked about her comeback album she looked blank. After a pause, she said: “Album? It should be released this week.”
