Vanessa Bryant is having to defend herself after an answer she gave in an interview with New York Magazine. Many people that read the interview thought Vanessa came off as the “gold-digger” type. Here is the quote that set everyone off,
“I certainly would not want to be married to somebody that can’t win championships. If you’re sacrificing time away from my family and myself for the benefit of winning championships, then winning a championship should happen every single year.”
Daaaamn, gurl! Maybe she should be the head coach of the Bobcats; perhaps they might get their win total in the double digits next year! Anyway, Vanessa is trying to clear up all of the confusion surrounding her controversial quote,
“I’m sad to hear that some of the comments in my New York Magazine interview are being misconstrued and taken out of context. I have been with Kobe for 13 years. I accepted his marriage proposal PRIOR to him winning any of his 5 championships with his teammates. I have and will continue to support my husband’s dreams.” she told TMZ.
Personally, I don’t see anything wrong with what she said. If Kobe is going to be gone half the year, playing basketball and having sex with a different chick in every city…he better at least bring home a championship! You stand your ground, Vanessa! Don’t let him travel all over your court; you own that court! Own it, gurl.
