Katy Perry Turns Down Idol!

American Idol has been reaching out to everyone lately, they’re clearly trying to stand out from the crowd and give their dying show new life. That’s why the talent show offered Katy Perry a $20 million deal to become a judge on the show, and she turned it down!

That’s right, Katy Perry turned down $20 million! Normal people would never pass up on an offer like that, but when you’re already making $20 million; you can afford to be a little picky. Sources say that Katy Perry turned down the offer because of her really busy schedule. Plus, she didn’t feel like it would be the right career move at this time. Right now she wants to continue to make albums and go on tours; judging full-time with American Idol would certainly make that more difficult.

So, who is still in the running for the potential last judging spot? Well, Nicki Minaj was reportedly really close to signing a deal, but nothing has been confirmed. Kanye West has even been mentioned, but I don’t see him making any deal with Idol. Even country music star Keith Urban has been in the running, so it looks like Idol is reaching out to anyone who will listen.
