Usher and Shakira Joining “The Voice”?

Christina Aguilera and CeeLo Green are on their way out and Usher and Shakira are on their way in…at least for one season. Christina and CeeLo have announced that they will be taking a break from The Voice next spring during the 4th season of the show. Usher and Shakira have agreed to come on and keep their seats warm until they return in season five, which both have said they are planning on doing.

Christina will be taking a break from the show because she will be going on the road to promote her new album, and CeeLo will be developing new music and working on a sitcom based on his life for NBC.

“As I have expressed since day one of the show…I am a singer and performer first and I am so excited to get back to that love.” Christina said in a statement.

Blake Shelton and Adam Levine will still be on the show during season four, so they’ll be able to show the new judges the ropes. The Voice is currently airing its third season on NBC and it looks like it’s still going strong; it even managed to beat out The X Factor’s season premiere in the ratings department.

I don’t normally watch any of these singing competitions, but I can promise you that I’ll be watching The Voice next season for obvious reasons…or reason; Shakira! She is definitely an improvement on Christina Aguilera.
