Leslie Carter Dead at 25 [UPDATED]

The Carter family must be completely shocked and saddened right now after learning that Leslie Carter died Tuesday in upstate New York. Leslie was the sister of Nick Carter and Aaron Carter. A spokesperson for the family released the following statement…

“Our family is grieving right now and it’s a private matter. We are deeply saddened for the loss of our beloved sister, daughter, and granddaughter, Leslie Carter. We request the utmost privacy during this difficult time.”

What a terrible loss. Leslie had hopes of being a singer just like her brothers. She was beginning to gain popularity, even having one of her songs on the soundtrack of the movie, ’Shrek’ in 2011. The Carter family has had a long history of troubles. Both Aaron and Nick Carter have had trouble with drugs, but recently things have been looking up for both of them. Nick and Aaron Carter are both believed to be clean now and getting on with their lives. Aaron was just recently on, ‘Celebrity Cook-Off’ where he was competing against other celebrities in various cooking challenges.

Leslie is survived by her husband, Mike Ashton, and a daughter, Alyssa Jane Ashton.

UPDATE:

It is now being reported that an addiction to prescription medication is to blame for her death. Her family members believe she died of an overdose. Sources have told TMZ that she had recently moved from Canada to Upstate New York to live with her family while she attempted to get over her addiction. Supposedly family members tried to make the home as drug-free as possible.

Family members believed Leslie would be okay to stay alone in the home for an hour yesterday while they ran errands, but when they returned she was unconscious.
