Phillip Phillips Wins American Idol!

We are sure you have all heard the news by now. The 21-year-old singer/songwriter received more votes than 16-year-old Jessica Sanchez. Over 132 million votes were cast, which is a new “world” record. Phillip was asked to sing his single after winning, but he couldn’t finish it. He broke down in tears and went to go hug his family.

But after some of the craziness went away, Phillip did manage to talk to reporters. “I don’t really feel anything. It’s crazy I’m still a little numb from the whole situation, it’s just unreal. Did I think I was gonna win? Heck no. It’s so unreal. It hasn’t sunk in yet.” He said.

Phillip also talked about how lucky he feels, “I just started thinking about the journey and how far all of us have come and how far we made it, it’s so overwhelming. Jessica has a huge future ahead of her and we’re both supportive of each other. I love playing music and I’m just a lucky guy.”

We’re happy for Phillip! He seems like a really good guy. Plus he is having to deal with those crappy kidney stones.
