‘Real World’ Star Joey Kovar Dead At 29

Some sad news made its way across the internet yesterday; Joey Kovar has died at the young age of 29. Joey was a reality star, who appeared on, ’Real World: Hollywood’ and ’Celebrity Rehab 3’  he was also looking to get into acting. He was found dead in a friend’s home in Chicago on Friday morning.

Kovar has had a long battle with drugs and family members suspect he died from a drug overdose. You may remember that Kovar actually had to leave the Real World home so he could enter a 30-day rehab facility. He ended up leaving the show all together, not wanting to risk a relapse. The 29-year-old had a passion for personal fitness and worked as a personal trainer for quite some time, but his drug abuse just got the best of him. Back in 2010 when he appeared on Celebrity Rehab, he admitted that he was addicted to alcohol, cocaine, ecstasy, methamphetamine and steroids.

Bunim-Murray Productions, the production company behind the ‘Real World’ series released the following statement,

“Joey was a gentle and big hearted guy and his real world family will miss him. Our sympathies go out to his family and friends. Our deepest condolences go out to the friends and family of Joey Kovar. RIP dear friend.”

Sad to see another young life lost because of an addiction. Our thoughts are with his family and friends.
