Rodney King’s Family Needs Help with Funeral Costs!

Apparently, Rodney King was broke when he died and now his family needs money to help pay for the funeral costs. They’re asking for public donations to give King a proper burial. King’s family said he basically had no money left at the time of his death and they need a little over $22k for his funeral.

They issued a statement through the family rep, Kali Bowyer, asking people to contribute to a memorial fund established “for those who wish to contribute to the King family.” King’s three daughters desperately tried to come up with the money themselves, but they need a lot of help to reach the $22k goal.

But get this…King received a $3.8 million settlement from the City of L.A. back in 1992! It might have been smart to put some money back for things like this, or at least invest some of it? Rodney King could have made some smarter decisions with his money, but there is no looking back now. His family is now stuck with the bill.

Hopefully they get their $22k! The funeral is expected to be on June 30.
