Natalie Portman says she avoids sex scenes in her Hollywood career because she does not want to end up “as a screen grab on a porn site”. Apparently playing a half naked stripper in Closer is not enough to get her on a porn site? Or how about her nude scenes in Hotel Chevalier?

The actress said she had deliberately shied away from “sex object” status after her Lolita-esque role in Leon, aged 12, prompted a flurry of “weird” letters from men.

“I’m definitely not a prude about sex or nudity, I just don’t want to do something that will end up as a screen grab on a porn site.”

Here is a newsflash for darling Natalie, porn sites will post anything, even if it’s your head superimposed onto the body of Jenna Jameson getting gang-banged by 38 cock-ring wearing zombies from the Planet Roxoff.

Portman, 28, added: “You look at Meryl Streep, who is so phenomenally, freakishly gorgeous, and in some ways it’s just bizarre that she was never a sex symbol. But it was always about her – and now it doesn’t matter that she’s getting older, because we just want to continue watching her be an interesting person.

“Whereas you see actresses who marketed themselves on their bodies, and they might be good, but over time they just lose it because that sort of thing doesn’t last.”

Um, why not give it a try and let’s put that theory to the test. Oh, and as for Maryl Streep, she may be freakish, but she ain’t georgeous, honey. Unless of course flounders are your thing.

Interesting observation. I wonder if she includes Jennifer Connelly in her assessment. Ms. Connelly has never shied away from nudity and I believe of the two of them, it’s Ms. Connelly who has a best actress Oscar.
