Are you ready for some football…with decent officiating? Well, you’re in luck because the NFL and its referees union signed an eight year contract Wednesday night! Since they reached a deal last night, the NFL refs will be able to work tonight’s game that features the Browns and Ravens. All of the refs will also be back for the weekend games and of course Monday night football.

It took the NFL and the referees union three long months to work out a deal. Everyone was surprised it was taking such a long time; most experts say that this should have been taken care of long before now. However, two major things were preventing the deal from getting done three months ago.

Referees’ pension and the fact that the NFL wanted to add a “taxi” squad of extra officials that could be called in to replace underperforming referees. They eventually worked out a deal that they both could agree on and now football fans all over the nation can breathe a big sigh of relief.

Meanwhile, the Green Bay Packers have to be thinking, “Oh…NOW? NOW YOU REACH A DEAL?” after getting robbed of a win Monday night. They now possess a losing record thanks to the group of footlocker employees who decided to “officiate” Monday’s game. The NFL owes the Packers big time, I expect the Packers to get every single controversial call for the rest of the season.
