Shocking news hit the internet last night when it was announced that Lance Armstrong will be banned from cycling and stripped of his seven Tour de France titles. The U.S. Anti-Doping Agency is putting out the extreme punishment after finding out that Lance Armstrong is declining to fight all of the allegations,

“There comes a point in every man’s life when he has to say, ’Enough is enough.’ For me, that time is now.” Armstrong said in a statement that was sent to the Associated Press.

“I have been dealing with claims that I cheated and had an unfair advantage in winning my seven Tours since 1999. The toll this has taken on my family and my work for our foundation and on me leads me to where I am today — finished with this nonsense.” Armstrong added.

The USADA is obviously not buying anything that comes out of Armstrong’s mouth and believes he started taking banned substances back in 1996,

“It is a sad day for all of us who love sport and athletes. It’s a heartbreaking example of win at all costs overtaking the fair and safe option. There’s no success in cheating to win.” USADA’s chief executive Travis Tygart said.

What a sad way to end your career, huh? Armstrong is smart to go with the “I just can’t take it anymore” excuse. He probably knows that sooner or later solid evidence would come out, so he probably wants to back out of the fight before he loses — even though it’s pretty clear that he has already lost.

He’s lost the respect of many fans and his seven Tour de France titles…oh and a testicle.
